On Wednesday, June 19, FME, in cooperation with member company KPN, Cordis Automation and Fectar, is organizing a workshop at the Brainport Industries Campus in Eindhoven on realizing a digital factory. We will show you how, by combining a number of technology building blocks as a company, you can make accelerated steps in the realization of the digital factory. You are also cordially invited to bring your own digital factory case or challenge. There is ample opportunity for networking during the closing drinks.
It seemed to me that the worst offenders were often car companies and their suppliers. The software development teams in these organizations seemed stuck in a kind of through-the-looking-glass world called Autosar, where common words and concepts seemed to have a different meaning. When we talked about event-driven, service-oriented systems, we often got blank stares. I could never quite grasp the nature of the problem or the communication gap. And so we never got a foothold in the automotive world.

During this workshop, we will use a cyber physical production platform to show how modularly connected production machines work together to create a final product. We will explain how we use low code machine models (behavioral models of machines), augmented reality, digital twins, precise indoor localization and private 5G technology to transform this platform into a true digital factory. This workshop will take place in the Brainport Digital Factory Foundation space.
We invite you to bring your own digital factory case or challenge. During the workshop we will discuss it and offer tools and advice for practical next steps.
